Seunghee Han 한승희

With an academic background in Women’s Studies and Social Policy, Seunghee Han
originally focused on structural social change—specifically, transforming systems that fail to
serve the needs and well-being of women. However, her encounter with Nonviolent
Communication (NVC) led her to a profound realization: true social change begins from
within. This insight launched her personal journey towards self-understanding and inner
peace, which has since evolved into a professional dedication to helping individuals create
peace both within and without.

Since 2006, she has worked with the Korean Center for Nonviolent Communication. Having
trained in the Mediate Your Life program since 2010, she currently mediates conflicts across
diverse settings in South Korea, including families, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods,
family courts, and police stations. In 2018, she began facilitating the year-
long mediation program, aspiring to build a "critical mass" of individuals capable of fostering
peaceful dialogue and relationships through NVC.

Her overarching passion is to contribute to healing and reconciliation for those impacted by
the long history of geographical division and psychological disconnection between South
and North Korea. To realize this vision, she is actively seeking ways to share NVC with
women from the North Korean diaspora.
