Rich Blundell

Rich Blundell, PhD, is an ecologist and cultural communicator whose work bridges formal scientific training with phenomenological research on human-nature entanglement. His doctorate grounded in geology and deeptime traverses the intimate to the infinite; his lived research spans three decades of residency across Earth’s major habitat types, from coral reefs to alpine zones. This embodied trajectory – recapitulating the human diaspora across diverse landscapes – provides the experiential basis for Earthling Theory and the ecological field theory he calls Oika. His documentary and science communication work has been featured on PBS and National Geographic. He currently directs the Earthos Research Initiative and Beautiful Futures Lab, training professionals across seven streams to carry ecological intelligence into culture.
