By addressing the underlying causes of the culture wars, I design solutions that help everyone pursue what is important to them nonviolently. As a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication since 2005, I led more than 800 days of training in 30 U.S. states and 10 countries including South Korea, Japan, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Romania, New Zealand, and the U.K.
As Executive Director of CNVC from 2021 to 2026, I created a financial turnaround for our organization that had a combined loss of more than $1 million from 2009 to 2021, with 4 consecutive years of positive net income totaling +USD $850,000, increasing revenue from $500,000 in 2021 to $2.6 million in 2025. In addition, I relationships with stakeholders in 60+ countries around the world and developed an international staff with people from 8 countries. Also, I rebuilt the organization‘s infrastructure from the ground-up, creating stability, coherence, and cross-pollination throughout the organization. In March 2026, I resigned from this position .
In addition, from 2009 to 2015, I was the Executive Director for the Compassionate Communication Center of Ohio , a regional nonprofit organization based in Columbus, Ohio, USA . One of my favorite methods for learning and practicing Nonviolent Communication is the NVC Dance Floors as developed by Bridget Belgrave and Gina Lawrie, which are especially helpful for people with kinesthetic and spatially-oriented learning styles. The Dance Floors are spatial maps made up of large cards that place NVC processes on the floor in various layouts called “dances” where the person practicing physically moves from one card to another in a “dance of communication.”
