When I am not in touch with myself, I cannot be in touch with you.
When I am searching for myself, I cannot see you.
So if I pass you by without seeing you, please remember:
It is me who cannot find myself, not you.
(Ruth Bebermeyer)
These lines may best describe my vision. And Marshall Rosenberg’s path and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) helped me understand how I can serve for this.
Inspired by my own personal journey, I can comfortably say that it is very important to understand how my body is shaped, when and how it reacts, what those reactions mean, and what desires they try to connect me with.
So my resistances are as powerful a compass as my vision. That‘s why I enjoy working with both vision and resistance. In my opinion, the key to peace in the world and social transformation lies in why we do or don’t do certain things.
I offer adult education programs that develop our ability to observe and accompany our inner voices, such as From Anger to Empathy, From Self-Sabotage to Self-Compassion, and From Reactivity to Connection. As an engineer who has worked in factories in the past, I deliver various leadership training programs in organizations based on connection, conduct mediation work using Nonviolent Communication, and facilitate restorative circles.
I find myself committed to doing work that increases our ‘deep listening’ skills. My ICF Professional Coach skills support me too. I believe that our listening skills will primarily nurture our inner peace, our capacity for empathy, and thus foster more accepting, compassionate, inclusive, and creative relationships. In my vision, the longing for a world at peace consists of individuals at peace.
