My journey with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) began in 2010, when I was first attended a practice group session in Delhi. With no prior knowledge of NVC or Marshall Rosenberg, I stepped into what my friends called a ‘magical process’. For me, that session was the introduction, as well a deep-dive into the process that would reshape my life and work.

It has been a long and transformative path since then. In NVC, I found a convergence of my existing work in communication, healing, and spiritual practices. It aligns with what I have long sought: a psychological construct, deeply rooted in spirituality.

Over the years, my commitment to NVC has only strengthened through trainings, IITs, international conventions, and the most critical teacher of all … consistent practice. I have held space in practice groups, shared NVC through talks and workshops, and integrated its principles into my work as a therapist and counsellor. In 2020, I became a founding member of the NVC Trust in India with a commitment to nurture a non-violent world.

NVC naturally complements my work as a Counsellor, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Pranic Healer. I use NVC extensively in my counseling practice. I find it to be a useful tool to help my clients with self-growth and to navigate conflict, heal old wounds and foster deeper connection. NVC has deepened my counselling practice, enabling me to offer a more empathetic presence to my clients. I work with individuals and couples and families to resolve issues and conflicts; with groups teaching the concepts of Nonviolent Communication and, also, creating workshops at the intersection of NVC and psychology for special interest groups.

Because of the profound personal change I have experienced and the healing I have witnessed within myself and in my clients, I feel empowered to contribute to my larger purpose to hold spaces for social healing − by holding grief circles and empathy circles and holding community dialogues to bring about systemic change.
