About the Trainers
Yoojin Lee - I have been actively learning and practicing Nonviolent Communication on a personal basis for 19 years, have participated in trainings with Dr. Rosenberg, and facilitate a weekly NVC practice group. As an independent consultant for leadership and social change, I have been training, facilitating and supporting young people and adults on a range of topics for over 20 years. Formerly, I was a Senior Trainer & Manager at Health Resources in Action and the Lead Organizer at the Boston-area Youth Organizing Project. My enthusiasm for NVC comes from experiencing its transformative effects on my relationships at work, in my family, and with myself.
Steve Tumolo - I am thrilled to be teaming up with Yoojin to offer this training. Nonviolent Communication has profoundly impacted my relationships, work, and sense of meaning and purpose in life. I am eager to share this life-changing practice. I am certified by the Center for Nonviolent Communication and am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and accredited T’ai Chi Chih instructor. Like Yoojin, I’ve had the gift of learning directly from Marshall Rosenberg and Robert Gonzales. I serve as the Chief Encouragement Officer with the nonprofit Heart-to-Heart and, with my spouse Julene, co-lead Everyday Peacemaking, through which we help organizations and organizational leaders cultivate their capacities for relational leadership and conflict transformation.
