My keynote presentation will contextualize humanity’s relationship with AI within Integral Theory. Based on my 12+ years of integral leadership work within Google, I will articulate a futurist view of the seemingly magical technological powers coming soon along with some key polarities and moral dilemmas. In particular, I’ll address the importance of a post-tragic view regarding future changes to the human body (and its interior correlates). There will be losses and gains, failures and triumphs, grief and gratitude. The post-tragic disposition includes both. Coming advances in cybernetic augmentation, nanotechnology, and synthetic biology will change the exterior of our species. Given the integral community’s evolutionary values, how do we hold this transhumanist wave that will shortly crash upon us? Are we biased toward interior evolution while wanting exterior evolution to stand still? What does it feel like to regard ourselves as a transitionary species? And what will emerge next?
