There are rare moments in our SDI group discussions where the flow and coherence peaks resulting in a state experience that hovers from subtle to causal and sometimes beyond. We all cherish these moments, and these rare experiences are partially why we invest ourselves in our collective.
A Focused Integral Group Discussion is an experimental attempt to facilitate these experiences by adopting and refining agreed upon structures of discussion.
A Focused Integral Group Discussion utilizes the collective intelligence of a group of individuals by employing process-structures and attention that maintain flow and coherence at crucial moments. Whitehead (1929), a Process Philosopher, referred to these moments as “creative advances into novelty,” stepping into our evolutional currents toward newness, co-emerging the essences of nature and the Divine into an Integral occasion of experience. These advances were described by Roberts (1970) “as a womb of un-actualized but ever-expanding potentialities.” The focused group discussion seeks to promote these rare instances of consciousness via a moderator who identifies a moment the group will collectively feel into while each participant makes real time adjustments of their contribution and intention.
“We space” is frequently discussed but only sporadically realized. It is understood that a focused group of individuals can open into sustained insights and state experiences greater than what could be accomplished alone or between two people. The scaffolding of the Focused Integral Group Discussion will impel the myriad of possibilities where the use of intuition and other subtle attentive energies heighten presence. Our goal is to become cosmic consciousness tourists into never ending areas of individual and group dynamic exploration.

DIRECTIONS: From Rancho Santa Fe Road, turn onto El Camino Del Norte. Go 6⁄10 of a mile, then turn Left onto Val Sereno. When Val Sereno dead ends at Via de Caballo, turn Right. At the dead end cul de sac, turn Right at a large wooden sign with house numbers and follow the narrow extension down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, turn Left. My half of the townhouse is at the end, 3197, double green doors.
Parking is limited. One car can park in front of my end of the duplex. One car can park to the right of my duplex neighbor. Three cars can park in the guest slots before the townhouse. The rest of you will have to park at the top of the hill before the wooden sign and then walk down the hill. I suggest that you bring a flash light to return up the hill to your car. Sorry for this inconvenience.
